Professor Jiang discussed the key points of prevention and control of the first four hot pig diseases in a simple way. Firstly, the current research progress of blue ear disease and the precautions for vaccine selection were introduced, and the selection of blue ear vaccine was guided according to the actual situation of pathogens in pig farms. Professor Jiang believes that the prevention and control of blue ear disease should be closely combined with the dynamics of the epidemic situation in pig farms, and different pig farms should carefully choose blue ear vaccines with good safety and suitable for their own, and formulate corresponding immunization procedures. When talking about the comparison between R98 strain and some domestic strains, Professor Jiang discussed from four aspects of vaccine residual virulence, serum virulence time, vaccine infectivity and cross protection against different wild viruses. The classic blue ear vaccine strain (R98 strain) has advantages in terms of safety, viral titer, stability and immune protection efficacy. When it comes to the prevention and control of circovirus, Professor Jiang believes that early immunization is the most effective means to prevent and control circo-related diseases, and pointed out that it is thanks to the vigorous promotion and application of circo-related products such as Yuankeqing in recent years that the mutation rate of blue ear disease has slowed down, effectively reducing the occurrence of immunosuppressant diseases in pig farms. When it comes to the new PEDV strain that has been ravaging China since 2012, Professor Jiang discussed through the latest research on molecular biology that the new PEDV strain that has caused great losses in China may not originate from South Korea as people suspected, and the current prevention and control of diarrheal diseases should also strengthen feeding management. When the new strain vaccine is not available, the choice of conventional diarrhea vaccine can play a certain protective role. Finally, Professor Jiang clarified his views on the variation of pseudorabies and proposed that the current high-valent pseudorabies live vaccine can provide some cross-protection. Professor Jiang concluded by saying "environment is the foundation, diagnosis is the guarantee, vaccine is the means, and treatment is the supplement", suggesting that farmers pay attention to the comprehensive prevention and control of diseases.
