The Hazards of Pseudorabies (PR)
Pseudorabies (PR) is an acute infectious disease caused by the pseudorabies virus (PRV), affecting various domestic and wild animals. It manifests as epidemic outbreaks, leading to miscarriages, stillbirths in pregnant sows, infertility in boars, and massive mortality of newborn piglets; fattening pigs exhibitneurological symptoms, respiratory distress, and growth stagnation. It ranks among the major infectious diseases threatening global swine farming. Most countries (Western Europe and North America) have implemented measures to eradicate the disease, with some having achieved successful elimination. However,for most Asian countries, pseudorabies remains a challenging disease to control.
Two Key Aspects in Controlling Porcine Pseudorabies
Maternal antibody interference: The maternal antibody levels in piglets can persist for an extended period, which may lead to immunological failure.To prevent such immunological failure, the infection status of pseudorabies should be assessed through serological monitoring,with testing items including blue ear disease, swine fever, and circovirus disease, as these diseases are closely associated with the prevalence of porcine pseudorabies.Serological monitoring enables evaluation of the efficacy of immunization control programs.
latent infection: The pseudorabies virus can spread through the nervous system to trigeminal neurons. The virus remains latent within these neurons, establishing a latent infection that allows its persistent presence in pigs throughout their lives. Any stress stimulus can activate the pseudorabies virus; activated viruses may trigger recurrent disease episodes in pigs and transmit the infection to other animals on the farm.Therefore, preventing latent infections and reducing viral dissemination are critical measures for controlling this disease.

Vaccine Strain Constructed from a Globally Recognized Classic Virus Strain (Bartha-K61 Strain)
·High safety and genetic stability: The most significant concers regarding live vaccines are the persistence of viral virulence and potential virulence reactivation.
The pseudorabies virus (Bartha-K61 strain) has been in use since 1961 without any reports of persistent virulence, virulence reactivation, genetic mutations, or wild-type virus recombination, demonstrating excellent safety and stability.
·Excellent immunogenicity: The pseudorabies virus (Bartha-K61 strain) exhibits natural gene deletion, resulting in more complete viral particles compared to genetically engineered deletion vaccines (artificially deleted),thereby demonstrating superior immunogenicity and inducing high levels of both humoral and cellular immunity.
·TK gene (+): The virus can colonize neurons and prevent latent infection caused by pseudorabies virus. The vaccine virus colonizes trigeminal neurons prior to the wild-type virus,thereby preventing infection by the latter (place effect).
·gE gene (-): This vaccine does not induce the production of gE antibodies in pigs. The detection of gE antibodies indicates prior infection with a pseudorabies wild strain, making it useful for differential diagnosis.High Antigen Content, No Additional Dosage Required
·Continuous breakthroughs in manufacturing processes: advanced cell culture techniques and ultrafiltration concentration technologies.
·The standard antigen content of the product shall not be lower than 10 6-3TCIDso/head, significantly exceeding the national regulatory standard.

Blood Collection Protocol:Six to ten serum samples were collected from sows of different parity groups, all boars, and growing pigs at 4, 7, 10,13,16,20,and 24 weeks of age, respectively, based on the size of the pig herd, to accurately determine the infection status of pseudorabies through serological monitoring.
Free: All sows, boars, and breeding pigs (those weighing over 100 kg) shall be universally vaccinated with "Pseudo-Clear".
Re-exemption: One month later, all sows, boars, and breeding pigs (those weighing over 100 kg) that had previously undergone the initial universal vaccination should receive a second dose of "Pseudo-Clear" for immunization.
Universal vaccination for adult pigs: Following the two initial exemptions, all adult pigs shall receive a routine vaccination every 3-4 months.
Immunization schedule for fattening pigs: The first nasal immunization dose is administered at 0-3 days of age, the second at 8-10 weeks of age, and the third at 12-13 weeks of age.
Discontinue nasal immunization: After six months of implementation of this protocol, discontinuation of nasal drip immunization at this site may be considered.
Monitoring and evaluation: Conduct testing according to the blood collection protocol to assess the pseudorabies infection status in pig farms after purification measures have been implemented.
Change Immunization Schedule: According to monitoring results, if an 80kg fattening pig tests negative, theimmunization schedule may be adjusted to three annual routine vaccinations for breeding pigs, with fattening pigs receiving two vaccinations at 8-10 weeks and 12-13 weeks of age.
Eliminated positive cases: During the implementation of the aforementioned immunization protocol, positive boars in the farm must be culled, and breeding pigs must undergo monitoring; only those with negative results may enter the production herd. Breeding pigs should receive two doses of vaccination one month apart prior to entry. The farm shall conduct 2-3 full herd monitoring sessions annually to assess the progress of disease eradication.Precautions for the use of Pseudo-Clearing Agent
·Once the vaccine is available, it must be used up within the specified period.
·Local disinfection should be performed during vaccination.
·For epidemic areas and regions threatened by diseases, emergency vaccination may be administered to clinically asymptomatic livestock in affected areas or foci, in addition to infected animals.
·Used vaccine vials, equipment, and unused vaccies should be disposed of through harmless treatment.
[Characteristics]Spongy, loose masses that easily detach from the bottle wall and dissolve rapidly upon addition of diluent. [Indications]Used for prevention of pseudorabies in pigs, cattle, and sheep. Immunity is induced on day 6 post-inoculation, with an immunization duration of 12 months.
[Storage and Shelf Life]Store at 2-8 ℃; shelf life is 9 months. Store below-20℃;shelf life is 18 months.
