II. Product Usage

Ingredients and Content: Attenuated quail-derived strain of fowl pox virus (CVCCAV1003). The viral load per bird shall not be less than 10³.0 EID₅₀.
Properties: Spongy, porous masses that readily detach from the bottle wall and dissolve rapidly upon addition of diluent.
Action and Use: Used for the prevention of fowl pox. The immune period lasts 5 months in adult chickens and 2 months in newborn chicks.
Usage and Dosage: Administer subcutaneously at the avascular area on the inner side of the wing. Follow the dose instructions on the vial label, dilute with physiological saline, and use a fowlpox vaccination needle to administer the diluted vaccine. Administer one dose to chicks aged 20–30 days; two doses to chickens aged 30 days or older. Mild redness, swelling, and scab formation will occur at the injection site 3–4 days post-vaccination, with scabs typically falling off by 14–21 days. Reserve breeding stock may receive a second vaccination 60 days after the initial vaccination of chicks.
Precautions: (1) After dilution, the vaccine should be stored in a cool, dark place and used within 4 hours. (2) Local disinfection should be performed during vaccination. (3) Used vaccine vials, equipment, and unused vaccines must be disposed of through harmless methods. (4) Seven days after vaccination, each bird in the flock should be examined individually; those without reaction at the vaccination site should receive additional doses.
