Disease Overview
Transmissible Gastroenteritis of Swine (TGE) is an acute gastrointestinal infectious disease in pigs, clinically characterized by vomiting, severe diarrhea, dehydration, and high mortality rates among piglets under 2 weeks of age. The disease can affect pigs of all ages but poses the most severe threat to piglets. Mortality rates in piglets under 10 days reach up to 100%, while those in pigs older than 5 weeks are lower; adult pigs infected with the disease exhibit almost no mortality but experience significant growth impairment and reduced feed conversion effiiency. Currently, this disease is widespread in pig farms across China.
Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea (PED) is a highly contagious intestinal disease in pigs, characterized primarily by vomiting, diarrhea, and decreased appetite, affecting pigs of all ages. Its epidemiological features, clinical manifestations, and pathological changes closely resemble those of Porcine Transmissible Gastroenteritis (TGE). The severity of PED symptoms varies with age, being more pronounced in younger pigs. Newborn piglets within one week of age typically develop severe dehydration and die within 3-4 days after onset of diarrhea, with mortality rates reaching up to 50%, and occasionally as high as 100%.
TGE and PED are the primary causes of high mortality rates in piglets due to diarrhea, and can also induce diarrhea in pigs of other ages. These pathogens disrupt immune homeostasis, compromise immune resistance, and lead to secondary infections, resulting in significant economic losses for China's swine industry.
Controlling means
·Vaccination is the preferred method for preventing both TGE and PED.
·Sows are immunized before birth, and piglets acquire maternal antibodies through colostrum after birth to protect nursing piglets fom pathogens.
· Universal vaccination coverage is more conducive to disease prevntion and control.
Product Features of xie keqing1. Advantageous strain with excellent immunogenicity
TGEV employs a domestically isolated strain, whereas PEDV uses the internationally standardized strain CV777, which exhibits excellent immunogenicity, stable virulence, and strong antigenic specificity, making it suitable for domestic use.2. Utilizing Cell Cloning Technology, It Exhibits High Antigen Content.
·TGEV was cultured usin PK-15 donal cells, and the viral titer before inactivation reached as high as 10 7.3TCID50/ml, which is more than twice the national standard.
·PEDV was cultured in Vero done cells, and the titer of inactivated virions reached 10 7.5TCID50/ml, which is more than three times the national standard.
Imported Adjuvants
·The use of imported adjuvants ensures excellent immunogenicity, minimal adverse reactions, complete inactivation, and guaranteed vaccine safety.
·Clinical studies have demonstrated that the combined inactivated vaccine for porcine infectious gastroenteritis and porcine epidemic diarrhea exhibits excellent safety profile, with both active and passive immunization effects being highly satisfactory. The vaccination rate of sows exceeds 80%, while the passive immune protection rate in piglets surpasses 85%. Protective antibodies are induced one week post-vaccination, with an immunological protection duration lasting up to 200 days.Laikeqing recommends immunization methods
·Breeding sows: Administer the second dose of routine vaccination in September and October. Subsequently, administer one dose each at 40 days and 20 days before farrowing (for large-scale
farms) or once every two months (for small-scale farms), with a dosage of 4 mL per administration.
·Production boars: Administer a second dose of universal immunization in September and October, each dose containing 4 mL.
·Reserve breeding pigs: Administer two doses of vaccine prior to mating, each dose being 4 mL.
·For piglets in nursery care: administer one dose of vaccine once within the first week after weaning, with a volume of 1 ml per administration.
·Administration route: Injection at the Houhai acupoint. During vaccination, the needle insertion depth should be adjusted according to pig age: 0.5-4.0 cm for 3-day-old piglets, increasing progressively with age to 4 cm for adult pigs. The needle should be inserted parallel or slightly above the rectum.Precautions for the use of XiekeQing
·Vaccines must not be frozen.
·During transportation, vaccines should be protected from high temperatures and direct sunlight exposure.
·The vaccine must be thoroughly shaken both before and during use.
·During vaccination of pregnant sows, proper restraint should be applied to prevent mechanical abortion.
·During vaccination, standard aseptic techniques must be strictly followed.
·Pay attention to the needle insertion depth when administering injections into the Houhai acupoint.
·Immunological equipment and vaccine containers shall be disinfected or incinerated according to established protocols after use.
